Tony R. Ray takes cosplay into the realm of art, with his Avant Garde approach to creating his costumes. Tony has received critical acclaim in the circuit since 2007 for his adaptations of both male and female main stream characters into his own personal aesthetic, pushing the norms of the industry, especially for people of colour. A longtime fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy across many genres, he is particularly known for his portrayals of Static Shock, Black Panther & Power Rangers of various incarnations, a Merman, and Aqualad.

Ray is also an International HIV/AIDS activist and advocate, who focuses on social and political reform for key affected populations of the virus, and has been instrumental in the fight against HIV, and discrimination against persons living with HIV for over a decade.
